THE 17-MILE DRIVE

This August I did a roadtrip along the Californian coast.
During this trip we went to Monterey Bay and did the 17-Mile Drive, it is pretty well-known for its spectacular views of Pebble Beach.
This drive has 3 entrances:
1. North Entrance at Monterey: Pacific Grove Gate
2. South Entrance at Carmel-by-the-Sea: Carmel Gate
3. South East Entrance: Highway 1 Gate
I would recommend entering at sunset time and though the first entrance at Pacific Grove Gate to go from North to South. Other important info, the drive is $12.
As the name indicates it there is 17 stops along the journey, 2 hours should be enough to complete the whole drive.
My favorites were:

Spanish Bay

It is here that at the end of the 18th century, the Spanish landed, led by Gaspar de Portolà who then founded the city of Monterey.

Bird Rock

You can observe a multitude of birds on the rocks in front of you (seagulls, pelicans, etc.) and squirrels.

Cypress Point Look

With its turquoise water and white sand beach, it is part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, so it is inaccessible.

Pescadero Point

Great views of Carmel Bay.
